Who qualifies for a free library card?
Residents and property owners in Dover-Foxcroft, as well as RSU 68 students and educators can receive free cards.
Residents of Penobscot and Piscataquis Counties may receive free cards through the Paula Willoughby fund. Donations made by non-residents when opening or renewing an account will increase the principle of the Willoughby fund and ensure its future.
A $20 deposit will be held for all other “seasonal” patrons, to be returned after returning materials and closing account.
All patrons must show ID or proof of residence when registering.
Children age 5 and over can sign up for their own card, but minors under 14 must have a parent or guardian co-sign their application.
Library cards are issued in one name only, however card holders may authorize additional borrowers on their account.
